Sunglint on the Alabama Waterway

.In this particular June 26, 2023, photo taken from the International Space Station, sunlight polishes off the smooth waters of the Alabama Stream in a phenomenon known as sunglint. When capturing Planet, rocketeers typically capitalize on sunglint's inclination to increase the comparison between water surfaces as well as regarding land areas. In the 1960s, the Alabama Stream was dammed, developing Dannelly Reservoir (the large polishing area at facility left). Development of the dam also reared water levels upriver. This resulted in flooding at several factors along the waterway. These flooded zones are regular of floodplains-- the low, level areas right away next to bigger streams. Within this image, disaster area seem like rough, bright forms expanding far from the stream, like at Gee's Bend (facility base).Text Credit Rating: Justin Wilkinson.Picture Credit History: NASA/Woody Hoburg.
